Puffed Heart Frame-Continued

8. Click on the Center Heart with your Magic Wand, then select the base heart layer on the layer palette. Hit your Delete Key, then re-select the center heart layer again and delete that entire layer. Do not deselect! Go to Effects> 3D Effects> Outer bevel and use these settings:

Outer bevel settings

This is what you should now have:

3D heart with beveled inner cutout heart

9. Go to Selections> Modify> Expand, and expand 1 pixel. Then go to Selections> Modify> Feather, and feather 1 pixel. Finally, go to Effects> Blur> Gaussian Blur and set the Radius at 2.00. (This is to eliminate the jaggies created by the outer bevel.)

Deselect.

10. Go to Colors>Brightness and Contrast and set the Brightness on 15 and the Contrast on 0.

Save your Image.

Our Base frame is finished.....letīs decorate it!

Tiny Puffed Heart decoration

1. Maximize your "Heartdecor" image. Click on the heart shape with your Magic Wand, then go to Selections> Modify> Feather and feather the selection by 1 pixel. (This is to minimize any possible jaggies.) Change your foreground color to a nice Valentiney red (I used #C000000) and flood fill your heart.

2. Go to Selections> Float (Ctrl+F). Go to Effects>3D effects>Cutout and use these settings:

Vertical=8
Horizontal=12
Opacity=72
Blur=100
Color=Black
Fill interior with color=unchecked

3. Go to Effects>Plug in Filters and locate Eye Candy 3.1. Choose Glass and use these settings:

Eye Candy Settings

Repeat the Glass effect.

De-select

4. Go to Colors>Brightness and Contrast and set the Brightness on 15 and the Contrast on 0. Your heart should look like this:

Shiny red heart

Save your Image!

5. Deselect. Resize the heart to 55% of the original. Then go to File> Export> picture tube. Leave the default settings as they are, and name your tube. I called mine "puffyheart".

Putting it together

Well the rest of this tutorial should be fairly obvious, VBG :). Add a new layer and apply your new heart tube at scale 10. Add a drop shadow with the following settings:

Vertical=1
Horizontal=0
Opacity=40
Blur=0
Color=Black

Continue as above, varying the sizes of your hearts between scale 10 and scale 20. You can vary the sizes even more by changing some of them with the deformation tool. I also used the deformation tool to deform and/or rotate some of my hearts. Anyway you want to do it is fine, after all, itīs your image now. :))))

I hope you enjoyed this tut as much as I enjoyed writing it for you.

Happy Valentineīs Day!
